One of the best and easiest ways we can support our own mental and emotional well-being is by remembering to appreciate the little things in life.
If something makes your soul smile, be aware of that and make sure you include it as part of your routine. The magic of starting to focus on these little things is that you will gradually shift your thoughts from what is missing in your life to what is there. It will create a little positive loop in your brain feeding you with motivation and energy.
The essence of life is in the small details: a blue sky, a furtive glance, a sweet and unexpected smile, reading a good book, listening to music that you enjoy, contemplating the moon, an old special letter that you had forgotten about, a reunion full of emotion and tears, a hug that left a mark, the sound of the wind through the branches of a tree, the whisper full of kindness from a friend, the sensation of the water caressing your feet, the eyes happily inundated with green, the enveloping warmth of the sun, the sensation of the grass underneath the palms of your hands, the breeze gently caressing your face, the mesmerizing sound of the birds softly vibrating in your ears, the jovial laugh of a child.
So whenever you have a moment, appreciate it. Take time to see the little things that make your life richer, and try to be thankful for them when you can. By enjoying little things in life and appreciate them you connect more with your authentic self, the real you, the most expansive version of you.
“The real you is loving, joyful, and free. The real you is just like a flower, just like the wind, just like the ocean, just like the sun." -Don Miguel Ruiz
